Complete Genome Sequence of Sphingomonas sp. Strain NIC1, an Efficient Nicotine-Degrading Bacterium
Sphingomonas sp. strain NIC1, an efficient nicotine-degrading bacterium, was isolated from tobacco leaves. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of strain NIC1, which contains one circular chromosome and two circular plasmids. The genomic information will provide insights into its molecular mechanism for nicotine degradation.
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequence of the γ-Hexachlorocyclohexane-Degrading Bacterium Sphingomonas sp. Strain MM-1
γ-Hexachlorocyclohexane (γ-HCH) is a man-made chlorinated insecticide that has caused serious environmental problems. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of the γ-HCH-degrading bacterium Sphingomonas sp. strain MM-1, which consists of one chromosome and five plasmids. All the specific lin genes that are almost identical to those of Sphingobium japonicum UT26 for the conversion of γ-HCH...
متن کاملGenome Sequence of Sphingomonas xenophaga QYY, an Anthraquinone-Degrading Strain
Sphingomonas xenophaga QYY is an efficient anthraquinone-degrading strain. Here, we present a 4.2-Mb assembly of the first genome sequence of S. xenophaga. We have annotated 36 coding sequences (CDSs) encoding aromatic catabolism and 216 CDSs responsible for toxic resistance and stress response, which may provide insights into the degradation of complex aromatics.
متن کاملPosttraumatic Sphingomonas paucimobilis Endophthalmitis
A rare case of Sphingomonas paucimobilis endophthalmitis secondary to a penetrating globe injury with a retained intraocular foreign body is presented. A 30-year-old man presented with severe pain following a penetrating left eye injury. Visual acuity (VA) was 6/120. Slit-lamp examination revealed perforation of the temporal cornea and iris, hypopyon, and a fibrinous membrane covering the pupil...
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequence of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus CA16, a Bacterium Capable of Degrading Diesel and Lignin
We report here the complete assembled genome sequence of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus CA16, which is capable of utilizing diesel and lignin as a sole carbon source. CA16 contains a 4,110,074-bp chromosome and a 5,920-bp plasmid. The assembled sequences will help elucidate potential metabolic pathways and mechanisms responsible for CA16's hydrocarbon degradation ability.
